Our homes can directly affect our health through indoor pollution caused by the construction materials, the construction, the furnishings and the maintenance products. These give off toxic gases that are inhaled especially in tightly sealed with inadequate ventilation methods. Other sources of indoor pollution that can affect people’s health include: electromagnetic energy generated by humans through radio, TV, and microwaves; naturally occurring contaminants; biological contaminants. These sources can cause a variety of health issues such as insomnia, depression, respiratory problems, allergies and cancer.

The objective is to assess the environmental conditions in the house and identify possible impact on the health supporting nature of the home. Areas for improvements are identified and recommendations are made. While correcting conditions found will result in a more health supporting home, these corrections cannot be guaranteed to prevent or resolve any specific health issue. This inspection is strictly from a preventative viewpoint that incorporates the principles of Building Biology. This assessment is based on a mixture of questionnaires and several measurement instruments to expose electromagnetic radiation pollution, in-door air quality and water quality problems.
